Parametric Models

In some situations we can assume a parametric model for the population

The parametric model describes:

1. the general

2. Point Estimation: $\hat{\theta }=\hat{\theta }(X_1,\dots ,X_n)$ for estimating the unknown $\theta$

3. Interval estimation (confidence region of an estimate)

4. Hypothesis Testing
